On October 24th, 2007 a remarkable phenomenon was discovered by astronomers. The brightness of the periodically reappearing comet Holmes peaked to more than 100 000 times it used to be. Thus it became a remarkable target for all astronomers, specifically the amateurs who captured the expansion of the dust shell in detail.
