Globular Cluster M5
Messier Catalog: M 5
Constellation: Serpens - The Snake

One of the less famous, though brilliant globulars in the spring constellation Serpens.

Although the alignment of my new 6" Newton is still suboptimal resulting in slightly elongated stars, and the night was uncomfortably windy, I like the picture as it contains the foreground star 5 Serpentis, which is still visible to the naked eye and contrasts the delicate star cluster very nicely.
