A Dissimilar Pair
Messier Catalog: NGC 6939 / NGC 6946
Constellation: Cepheus

This is again the famous pair of a galactic star cluster and the multi-armed spiral galaxy. (North is left!)

Although I photographed the area back in 1998, I wanted to know how the digital imaging technique might improve the result. And what a difference! Mind the extremely faint elongated background galaxy UGC 11538 in the central upper part of the picture, to the upper right of the star cluster!
