This is a really beautiful emission nebula in the constellation of Cassiopeia, not far away from the Perseus double cluster. The object glowing in red light of ionized hydrogen spans an area so wide that I chose it as a first light for my new 60mm refractor I purchased in summer of 2019. It took a while until I noticed that I captured this object on film back in 2004. What a difference 15 years of technology made!
In order to watch the nebula in its full extent, you should watch the picture composed from the difference between red and green channel.
Unfortunately fog developed in this perfectly calm night earlier than expected. That's why I captured only a bit more than 2 hours of exposure - I plan to stock it up in clear autumn nights yet to come...
