Re-Visiting the Pegasus Spiral
New General Catalogue of Nebulae and Clusters of Stars: NGC 7331
Constellation: Pegasus

With my successful combination of telescope and correction optics I decided to use the first long night in late summer of 2022 to take a close-up of NGC 7331 I imaged back in 2012.

The frame did not allow to include the famous Stephan's quintet, but the structures in the spiral galaxy turned out prominent enough to make it a galery entry. It took almost 4 1/2 hours of exposure and a little bit of noise management to come up with a presentable output.

The galaxy is almost 50 million light years from home, and associated with quite a few satellite galaxies gravitationally connected. It was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel in 1784.
