This galaxy is the "little sister" to M31, the great Andromeda nebula. The picture is "first light" for my 6" Newtonian reflector telescope which I purchased to be equiped adequately for digital photography. Digital cameras require less format but enhanced definition quality. You will notice that most of my pictures taken on film through my 8" scope will be outperformed by this smaller instrument!
As I wanted to shoot another object in the very same night and had to work the next day, I decided to stay on the short edge regarding the exposure time. Considering the horrible wind and the stubborn mood the mount was in at this evening, still an encouraging result...
